Outdoor Education Activities for Students
The objectives of the GOALS Leadership workshops are to:
• Identify student leadership style
• Grow communication skills
• Teach conflict resolution and problem-solving in a team setting
• Help students gain confidence in public speaking and working in teams
Workshops are 75 minutes in duration and take place in both classroom and outdoor settings. Workshops consist of a mix of group work, team building activities, problem-solving challenges, and focused classroom learning to accomplish “Goals of the Day” based on workshop themes. One facilitator leads on-site GOALS workshops.
Outdoor Adventure Trips in Southern California
In addition to the after school workshops, the GOALS program includes two full-length adventure trips that encompass rope, water, and trail-based adventure sports. Transportation to and from the diverse trip locations is provided by our partner organization arc, as well as all activity equipment and safety gear. Adventure trips are 2.5 hours in duration (not including travel time), and are led by two wilderness medicine-certified guides.
